Artist Biography 

Estra Reynolds is a contemporary abstract expressionist from Gadsden, Alabama. Her early experience of co-owning an art gallery, art supply store, and faux finishing school in the early 2000s, combined with her interest in interior design, has shaped her versatile approach to using various mediums in her work. 

After moving to Gulf Shores in 2014 with her husband and retiring from the US Postal Service in 2016, Estra fully embraced the coastal lifestyle. The beauty of the beaches, wildlife, and activities such as biking, hiking, and kayaking became central themes in her artistic inspiration. She was featured in several local art galleries there.  

Estra’s art is characterized by her love for scale, texture and composition. Deeply influenced by minimalism and the wabi-sabi philosophy, which embraces simplicity and the beauty of imperfection, her work often features organic, earthy tones and neutral hues. This palette creates a sense of calm and balance. 

In 2021, Estra and husband returned to Gadsden, where she continues to pursue her passion for art. Her paintings remain rooted in nature and personal experiences, with each piece reflecting her evolving creative vision.
